In a train...

I felt I was
being watched.
I turned around,
two little eyes
pierced me
with a deadly gaze.

It has been a long while...

An end of a day is a start of another.

As the sun rises, a lone man unloads his boat.

Entangled in the net, are his catches of the day.

Bounty from the sea.

I live here

Melaka, Malaysia

I bumped into this lady during "kids klick" outing organized by online community Photomalaysia. I met her at the corridor one of the lots along Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, Melaka. She has been living there for more than 60 years. She even invited me and the boys under my charge inside for lunch. I would love to go in an see how an antique Peranakan house looks like. Unfortunately by then, my boys were already far away. So I took my leave but not before asking the lady's permission to take her photo. She was reluctant because she said her 'baju'(or in english, attire) is 'buruk' (old/not nice). I wanted to take of her colourful baju but have to obliged her wish and took only her headshot in front of her house.

Behind bars

I'm compelled to explain this picture because it is not what it seems.
1. He is not a juvenile offender who gloomily look through prison bar. He's a jubilant Kid Klick participant.
2. He's not looking out from inside a building. It was the opposite (i.e. he's outside the building)
3. Isn't it ironic to have roof at the corridor but not inside the building

Picture taken in Melaka during recent Kids Klick program by Photo Malaysia.

Busking in the Sun

Photo was taken last Saturday, during an outing in Melaka, Malaysia

Everything in the photos explains something about him.
Why don't I just call him a guitarist? Because he didn't just play the guitar. He also sings. Does he gets paid to sing? Not really, but he accepts whatever you put in his guitar case. How long have he been doing this? Judging from his half empty water bottle, most likely since morning. Looking at the shadow directly underneath him, it was already noon. From him baked glistering skin, most likely since a long time. It must be hot to sing underneath the sun, but the little stones on the bank notes show us God have mercy on him and gave wind to cool him. Where is he singing? The slab and wall behind him tell us it's in some old historical site. But not too old that nobody visits it. There's a bit of Malaysian Flag and tourist at the background. It's a tourist spot in Malaysia.

Trip to Kemaman, Terengganu

After a long drive, we stopped at the famous coffee shop in Terengganu
Checked the whereabouts of other entourage
Bored waiting for the others, a little fight was on the menu

Then the coffee and toast came
And then the rest of the entourage. After the engagement ceremony, we took our leave.

Before we left, the bride-to-be tried to catch a glimpse of the groom-to-be

Once satisfied, she waved 'bye-bye'.

We stopped for 'sata', 'otak-otak' and 'pais'

And of course, 'keropok', before heading home

Picturesque

I had wanted to post picturesque or interesting photos in this blog. But I soon found out that it is hard to select interesting photos. Then someone gave me this link: http://www.theblindphotographer.com/index.asp

I realised that to me it migh be something mundane and uninteresting. But to others from other part of the world, it might be interesting. I will try to update this blog more often. ;)

Here's a picture of a beach in Port Dickson, Malaysia.
